A bit more about me...

Picture
I grew up in a car industry family in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, USA. At Michigan State University, I studied Political Science/International Relations, and interned at the U.S. State Department in Washington, D.C. I also attended conferences at the European Union in Brussels and for the Atlantic Council in Denmark. After deciding against a career in government, I shifted to journalism. My first published article appeared in Lansing Metropolitan Woman Magazine when I was 20 years old.

I'm married to a German psychotherapist and have two dual citizen daughters. We've lived in Essen, Germany since 2007.
