Fiction
Short story and novel writing has been a passion of mine for years. It's a tough craft. My short story "The Witch's Mark," published in Page Forty-Seven, is a step in the right direction -- writing high quality prose for publication.
The pros and fellow learners at Mywriterscircle.com are a huge help and inspiration. The MWC charity anthologies have showcased my work for years, and raised money for great causes.
With my blog Anika on Writing, I'm joining the legion of writing blogs out there. What's different about mine? For years, I've collected great practical writing advice from teachers, books, articles and sites. I'm opening up those notebooks, organizing the post-it notes, and purging the files so other writers can pan them for gold. I'm most interested in the mechanics of writing, practical tips like the best outline I've ever seen, or how to make an editor happy. I'll also be sharing the highs and lows of editing my first novel, The Last Man.

Stories for fun and charity
Rascals of the Red Barren Bar is kind of like listening to storytellers after a round at a pub. This anthology has eclectic, entertaining stories from members of My Writers Circle, one of the best writers help sites on the web. Proceeds go to charity. Check out my story "Mary Unchained."
