Journalism
After a masters degree from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism in New York, I cut my teeth in newspaper reporting at the Philadelphia Inquirer. I moved on to the Chicago Tribune, where I wrote news and feature articles on just about everything related to life in metro Chicago.
I moved to Germany in 2000 as a freelance writer. Along with my regular work, I taught block seminars in journalism at the Technische Universität in Chemnitz. I got a unique glimpse into higher education in the former East Germany. (The lights didn't work and plaster crumbled from the walls. But the students were hungry to learn).

What I offer
- Original, researched articles for magazines, websites, newspapers and other publications. English preferred, but German is fine too. I need a bit more time for German text.
- Original photos, or selections from the appropriate archives
- High quality, You Tube-style video in several formats, including HD
- For radio: interviews and O-Ton in standard digital formats
- *Note: If you're from a marketing department, I'll be glad to take inquiries as long as the work is journalistic in nature, for example, an original article about nightlife in Hamburg for a corporate travel magazine.
